Tutorial - Add interest point to map

It is very easy to add a post or an interest point on the map to share with your friends. Here, as an example, let's add one of my favorite Mexican restaurant in town to the map and share with my friends.

1. Go to "My Town Map", find the restaurant place on the map, right click on the map. The context menu will show up as below picture.

2. Click the type of interest points in the context menu or click "Add More Interest Places" item if you don't see any matched type. It will bring up the following window to let you add your interest point. Once you add an interest point on the map, it also adds a post in the forum as well.
Title: the title for this point. It will be the title of corresponding post in the forum too.
Forum: basically, it is the type. You need to pick a valid forum (not forum category) to add an interest point.
Img URL: a image to better describe this point. We don't offer any way to upload a picture to our website. So, you only need to put the link for this picture into this box. H and W will let you to set the best height and width for this picture in order to display it correctly. For more detail about how to get the image URL for a picture, please see FAQ area.
Expire At: specify how long to keep this interest point. For example, if there is a store having sales, it might only lasts for one month, one week or even sooner. By specifying the expire date, people will know when the sale ends.
Detail: detail information for the interest point that you want to post. It only supports plain text. So please don't put any html or script into this box.

3. Once you click "Save", the interest point will be added to the map. You can also modify it whenever you need to. If you want to change the location for a interest point, you can simply drag it to the right street. For your own interest points, you can edit it, change the location. For the points that are not created by you, you can only view it, or add it to "My Favorite" list.

FAQ

1.	How to get the Image URL for a picture when create an interest point.
¡¡	First, you need to find the picture from Internet. You can also upload your picture to picture share websites such as Flickr, Picasa, Shutterfly or another sites. Once you find the picture, right click the picture, in the context menu, select "Properties". For Firefox, Img URL will be the text right after Image Properties->Location. For IE, it is Address(URL).
2.	How to share an interest point with my friends?
¡¡	Click the pushpin icon, in the little information window, click "Direct Link". It will bring up a new browser window. The URL address for that page is the direct link to the interest point. It is also the link you can share with your friends.
3.	Normally, it will show the interest points in current map view while I drag the map. But sometimes, it does not, why?
¡¡	Right, when you drag the map, it will load the interest points for the current map view dynamically. But there are two modes where it does not. One is in search mode. When you do a search or you have some keywords in the search box, it will keep your search result instead of loading points for current view dynamically. The other mode is "My Favorite" mode. When you click "My Favorites" link, it will be in this mode. It only shows your favorite interest points.
4.	How many interest points you can add on the map?
¡¡	Unlimited. There is no limitation on how many interest points you can add. But in current map view, it will only load at most 100 points. If there are more than 100 points, you need to zoom in to see all of them.
5.	Who can create interest point on the map?
¡¡	Any registered users in the forum. This map is an extension software for the forum. So you need to be a registered user to be able to create interest points. All features in this website is free.
6.	I can not see the interest points that I created even the post is still there, why?
¡¡	This is because the interest point expires. It will still be in my favorites and in a search result. If you want to change the expire date, you can find the interest point by a search and then edit it.
7.	I am a store owner. Can I advertise my store by creating interest point on this website?
¡¡	Sure you can. You can register to the forum and then create whatever points you want for free. But please don't create duplicated interest points. All duplicated points will be deleted. If you want to advertise on other pages of our website, please contact us.
